The command group of the 29th IB led by commanding officer Lt. Col. Cresencio C. Gargar honored these troopers before their families at the battalion headquarters here and thanked them for their invaluable contributions to the unit's success.
Their years of dedicated service have left an indelible mark on the battalion, and their legacy will continue to inspire the men and women in uniform, said Gargar.
Gargar presented each retiree with a commemorative memento as a token of appreciation. These serve as a symbol of the deep respect and admiration felt by their colleagues for their years of service and sacrifice, he said.
“Ang ako lang ikabilin sa inyo mga junior NCOs, magtigum gyud kay dili lalim magretire kung walay buffer fund (The only thing I will leave to you junior NCOs is to save up because it's difficult to retire without a buffer fund),” a retiree said.
The 29th IB reaffirmed its commitment to upholding the legacy of those who have come before and pledged to continue their mission with the same dedication and valor.
"Today, we stand in awe of the remarkable service rendered by our retirees. Their selfless dedication and tireless efforts have been instrumental in shaping the unit's identity and success,” Gargar said.
“We owe them a debt of gratitude that words alone cannot convey,” the 29th IB commander said, adding: “Let us continue in performing our duty and aspire to be like our retirees who have contributed to the development of our nation."
