
Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Benjamin ‘Benhur’ Abalos’ Jr. has ranked first in the survey of top performing Cabinet members under President Marcos.
In the survey conducted by RP-Mission and Development Foundation Inc. (RPMD), Abalos obtained 90 percent approval rating and 94 percent trust rating, which secured his position in the top post.
Closely following Abalos are Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian and Department of Tourism (DOT) Secretary Christina Garcia-Frasco.
“Securing the third tier of high-performing officials, Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista and Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman demonstrate commendable public confidence with approval ratings of 81 percent and 80 percent, accompanied by trust ratings of 84 percent and 82 percent respectively,’’ the RPMD stated.
The RPMD noted that ‘the fourth position is jointly held by Trade and Industry Secretary Alfredo Pascual and Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Secretary Ivan John Enrile Uy, who have earned approval ratings of 78 percent and 77 percent alongside trust ratings of 80 percent and 83 percent.’
Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla and Public Works and Highways Secretary Manuel Bonoan have secured approval and trust ratings of 75 percent and 78 percent and 74 percent and 79 percent, respectively.
“Further demonstrating the positive reception of the current administration's leadership, the RPMD said that other Cabinet officials have garnered respectable approval and trust scores.
“Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin (72 percent approval, 77 percent trust ratings), Finance Secretary Benjamin Diokno (72 percent approval, 76 percent trust ratings), DOST Secretary Renato Solidum Jr. (71 percent approval, 76 percent trust ratings), DFA Secretary Enrique Manalo (70 percent approval, 75 percent trust ratings), DOLE Secretary Bienvenido Laguesma (70 percent approval, 73 percent trust ratings), Solicitor General Menardo Guevarra (69 percent approval, 71 percent trust ratings), Special Assistant to the President Antonio Lagdameo Jr. (67 percent approval, 70 percent trust ratings), Press Secretary Cheloy Garafil (67 percent approval, 73 percent trust rating), DHSUD Secretary Jerry Acuzar (66 percent approval, 68 percent trust ratings), NEDA Secretary Arsenio Balisacan (66 percent approval, 68 percent trust ratings), DENR Secretary Toni Yulo Loyzaga (64 percent approval, 67 percent trust ratings), DOE Secretary Raphael Lotilla (64 percent approval, 66 percent trust ratings), DOH Secretary Ted Herbosa (63 percent approval, 69 percent trust ratings), Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Juan Ponce Enrile (61 percent approval, 72 percent trust ratings), Presidential Adviser Carlito Galvez Jr. (60 percent approval, 67 percent trust ratings), and PMS Secretary Elaine Masukat with 60 percent approval and 63 percent trust ratings, have also been noted for their praiseworthy service, reflecting an overarching positive public sentiment towards the administration's governance,’’ the RPMD disclosed.
The RPMD stressed that the sentiment among the Filipino populace towards the Cabinet officials of the Marcos administration is predominantly positive, reflecting an overarching approval of their leadership and policy direction.
