Lucky Chinatown launched its annual Christmas tree lighting event, dubbed this year as "A Thousand Sparkles of Christmas," last Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2023, with a heartwarming partnership with the Project Ngiti Foundation. The partnership dedicated the event to spread joy and hope to underprivileged kids.
Livening up the night for the spectators was singer Ronnie Liang, founder of the Project Ngiti Foundation, who serenaded the audience with his hit songs.
The Project Ngiti Foundation is a non-profit organization committed to bringing smiles to children in underprivileged communities by offering medical support to kids suffering from a cleft palate. The foundation has been a source of hope and joy for countless children, and this year, Lucky Chinatown has joined forces with the foundation to extend their efforts and make Christmas brighter for even more children in need. A portion of the proceeds from this event will go towards the foundation's initiatives, which include providing educational support, healthcare, and gifts to disadvantaged children.
Hon. Manila Vice Mayor Yul Servo Nieto led the ceremonial ringing of Lucky Chinatown’s bell at the tree lighting ceremony. Joining him were Lucky Chinatown General Manager Norico Mizoguchi, Megaworld Lifestyle Malls head of corporate operations group Michael Lao, and Ronnie Liang.
"At Lucky Chinatown, we believe in the power of community and togetherness, especially during the holiday season. 'A Thousand Sparkles of Christmas' is not just about lighting up our beautiful Christmas tree; it's about lighting up hearts and making a difference in the lives of those who need it the most," said Lucky Chinatown general manager Nori Mizoguchi.
