Sandara Park welcomes sister-in-law to family

Sandara Park, or Dara, former member of K-pop group 2NE1, has welcomed her new sister-in-law to their family. 

Dara’s brother Thunder, 33, former member of K-pop boy band MBLAQ, and Mimi, 30, former member of girl group Gugudan, previously announced that they were in a relationship and were planning to hold their wedding next year.

On Oct. 30, Thunder and Mimi held a photoshoot for their pre-wedding pictures and posted them on Instagram. Dara also joined the photoshoot. 

"We took our engagement photos yesterday. After Thunder and I made our relationship public on air this summer, we've been blessed with lots and lots of blessings. All thanks to you, there wasn't a single day when we weren't happy,” Mimi posted on Instagram on Oct. 31, SBS News reported. 

She thanked Dara and another sister-in-law for their assistance. 

"Despite their hectic schedules, both of my sisters-in-law came to help us on the day of our shoot. Thank you very much for the help. I'm so delighted to join your family as maknae [youngest]!" 

Dara commented on her photos and said she is excited to welcome her into the family. 

"I can't believe that I have a sister-in-law now! We'll be like real sisters from now on. Welcome to the family, Mimi! Be happy with Thunder, okay?" 

Back in July, Thunder and Mimi revealed their relationship on the Korean TV show “Second House 2.” 

They are planning to get married in the second half of 2024, previous news reports stated. 

When asked about children, Thunder previously said he was hoping to have a daughter and a son. 

“I wish I could have a daughter who resembles Mimi, but Mimi wants to have a daughter who resembles me… in fact, Dara,” he said.
