Dimples Romana reveals iconic red suitcase brings luck to her career

Three years have passed since Dimples Romana bid goodbye to one of her fan-favorite characters, Daniela Mondragon, in the series "Kadenang Ginto." But with all the praise and recognition she got from the character, there's one thing that hasn't gotten out of her shadow: her iconic red suitcase.

During the media conference of her new show "Gud Morning Kapatid" at the TV 5 studio in Mandaluyong last Oct. 26, Dimples revealed that the red luggage has been a great blessing to her ever since it became a meme in 2020.

"You know this maleta (suitcase) has been very lucky for me, it gave lots of opportunities not just for myself but also for the people who ultimately worked for me, like my glam team, the staff around me. May dala talaga siyang swerte, no joke nakakatakot," Dimples said.

The actress also shared that when the meme became viral she asked the team of Dreamscape if she could use the material to promote other products.

"As you know naman kasi I play with the characters that I portray, kaya feeling ko kaya siya nagviral kasi ako mismo pinaglalaruan ko yung character. So ever since Daniela Mondragon came about and ito honestly speaking pinagpaalam pa nila ito sa Dreamscape family and I'm so happy they allowed me to use it," she added.

Since then, Dimples has been active in different projects, including the recent series "The Iron Heart," where she played the role of Selene.

She also launched her skincare line on the day of her birthday, and that doesn't stop there. Dimples is now one of the newest hosts for 'Gud Morning Kapatid' with Jes Delos Santos, Chiqui Roa-Puno, Justin Quirino, Maoui David. Dimples will be appearing on the show starting on Nov. 13.

"Biruin niyo it's been what three years after Kadenang Ginto, and still Daniela is going around still doing her rounds and this time sa TV5 naman siya napunta, so excited ako kung saan siya dadalhin ulit," she added.

"Gud Morning Kapatid" is bringing in new segments with Dimples at the helm: “May Bahay” is all about home improvement tips on a budget, while “Smart Parenting” gives practical parenting advice.

Other fan-favorite segments remain, including Kitang-kita, Sabi ni Dok, Legal Ba ‘To, Frontline sa Umaga, and others.
