VP Sara, Duterte attend ex-president sister's inurnment

Vice President Sara Duterte and her father, former president Rodrigo Duterte, were seen together at her aunt’s inurnment in Davao City.

In a Facebook post on Sunday night, Oct. 8, the official posted photos of her and the former chief executive in a mausoleum.

“Ang pamilya Villarica at Duterte ay nagpapasalamat sa mga nagpadala ng bulaklak at mass card sa pagkamatay ni Tiya Jocelyn (The Villarica and Duterte families thank those who sent flowers and mass cards for the death of Tita Jocelyn),” she wrote.

“Napag-usapan ang pinagdadaanan ng pamilya na kaparte ng byahe ng buhay ng bawat tao (We talked about what the family is going through as part of the journey of every person),” the Vice President added.

Jocelyn Duterte-Villarica, who, according to Senator Bong Go’s post, died on Sept. 29, was inurned at the Roman Catholic Cemetery in Davao City. She was 75.

The former president has three other surviving siblings: Eleanor, Benjamin and Emmanuel.

This was a rare occasion that father and daughter were seen together since the Vice President’s oath-taking last year after winning the vice presidential race.
