LPA trough, thunderstorms to bring rain showers over parts of PH
The central and eastern Visayas and huge portions of Mindanao will have cloudy skies with a high chance of scattered rain showers, thunder, and lightning due to the trough of Low Pressure Area (LPA) being monitored outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR), said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Monday, Oct. 9.

PAGASA said the LPA was at 1,415 kilometers east of eastern Visayas which still has a low chance of developing into a tropical cyclone but may enter PAR in the next 24 to 48 hours.
Meanwhile, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers will be felt in Metro Manila and the rest of the country due to thunderstorms, said PAGASA.
PAGASA also warned of possible flash floods and landslides in high-risk areas due to moderate to heavy rains.
The state-run weather bureau said Metro Manila, Southern Luzon, and Visayas will have cloudy skies with rain showers on Wednesday to Thursday, Oct. 11 to 12 due to the effect of the LPA that may enter PAR. (Lizst Torres Abello)
