The Department of Health (DOH) is actively preparing for the presentation of a landmark project to the National Economic Development Authority (NEDA) Board.

“Once approved, this will be the first Public-Private Partnership [PPP] project of the department under the Marcos administration,” said Special Concerns Team (SCT) Undersecretary Maria Francia Miciano-Laxamana, according to a recent post on the DOH's official Facebook page on Sunday, Oct. 8.
The meeting, where DOH will make the presentation, is scheduled to be chaired by President Marcos on Oct. 13.
DOH emphasized that this development is a major milestone for the health department as the NEDA Investment Coordination Committee—Cabinet Committee (ICC-CC) has given its endorsement for the project's presentation to the NEDA-BOARD.
On Oct. 5, the DOH, led by Laxamana and Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) Chief Ricardo Runez Jr., took a significant stride towards establishing a PPP for the Renal Center Facility in Baguio City.
DOH said that the groundwork for this pivotal moment was laid when the NEDA ICC-CC, led by Secretary Benjamin Diokno and co-chaired by Secretary Arsenio Balisacan, approved the PPP proposal aimed at establishing a Dialysis Center PPP Project for the Renal Center Facility at BGHMC.
