Boracay named as one of Asia's best islands

ILOILO CITY – World-famous Boracay Island has earned another distinction.

The tourism office of the municipality of Malay in Aklan confirmed that the country’s most famous beach destination was named as one of Asia's best islands in the Condé Nast Traveler’s Readers’ Choice Awards 2023.

Borcay Island was one of the three beach destinations in the country that made it into the list ranked by readers of the luxury magazine.

Palawan was ranked sixth while Siargao was 10th.

“Taking the third spot in Asia, Boracay garnered a total of 90.74 points, while Palawan got 89.71, and Siargao with 87.37 in readers’ votes,” said the Malay-Boracay Tourism Office in a statement.

Boracay’s inclusion in the list of Condé Nast Traveler’s Readers’ Choice Awards is the latest.

Earlier this year, Boracay ranked 18th in the list of the 2023 World Beach Guide and was the fifth Best Island Destination by the 2023 DestinAsian Readers’ Choice Award.

Last year, Boracay Island was included in Time Magazine’s 50 World’s Greatest Places.
