342 Caloocan residents hired ‘on-the-spot’ in Mega Job Fair
A total of 342 job seeking residents in Caloocan City were hired on-the-spot during the Caloocan Public Employment Services Office’s (PESO) Mega Job Fair held held on Thursday, Oct. 5, the city government announced on Sunday, Oct. 8.
The event was conducted at the Caloocan City Sports Complex. It was the 11th Meg Job Fair held since Caloocan City Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan became the city’s leader.
The local government partnered with 50 local and overseas companies for the event which was attended by 850 job seekers in the city.

According to the city government, the event got a 40.14 percent target hiring rate which surpassed the Department of Labor and Employment’s (DOLE) 30 percent standard.
“Napakahalaga po sa amin sa pamahalaang lungsod na magbigay ng kabuhayan sa ating mgakababayan kaya naman tuloy-tuloy po ang paglulunsad natin ng mga job fairs kasama pa ng ibang mga livelihood programs (It is very important to us in the city government to provide livelihood to our people that's why we continue to launch job fairs including other livelihood programs),” Malapitan said.
PESO Officer-in-Charge Ms. Violeta Gonzales thanked the local chief executive as well as the city’s partner companies for the success of the event.
“Muli po tayong nagpapasalamat kay Mayor Along sa patuloy na pagsiguro na magka-trabaho ang ating mga kababayan, gayundin po sa mga kumpanyang patuloy na pinipili ang mga Batang Kankaloo bilang kanilang mga empleyado (Once again, we thank Mayor Along for continuing to ensure our people will have jobs, as well as the companies that continue to choose the Batang Kankaloo as their employees),” Gonzales said.
