Village chair, 15 others arrested for perjury

TACLOBAN CITY – A barangay chairman was arrested along with three barangay councilors and 12 civilians in Mondragon, Northern Samar, for perjury on Friday, October 6.

Police identified the suspects as Arnel Domasig, 41, chairman of Barangay Talolora, Mondragon, and Barangay Talolora Councilors  Edgar Cebujano, Lucio Dumasig, and Antonia Villaflor.

They were arrested through a warrant of arrest dated October 3, 2023, issued by the 10th Municipal Circuit Trial Court of Catarman-Lope de Vega in Catarman, Northern Samar.

The court recommended bail of P36,000 bail for each of the suspects.

They immediately posted bail after they were arrested and only stayed at the police station for a few minutes.

Domasig is running for reelection in the barangay elections on October 30.
