PCO: Marcos committed to giving Filipinos quality jobs

The Presidential Communications Office (PCO) has reiterated the Marcos administration's dedication to providing Filipinos with high-quality and well-paying jobs to propel the Philippines to a more resilient and prosperous future.

The PCO said this after reports that the unemployment rate in the country dropped to 4.4 percent in August this year from 5.3 percent in the same period last year.
It likewise cited the drop in the underemployment rate from 15.9 percent in August 2022 to 11.7 percent in the same month this year.
In a Facebook post, the PCO pointed out that the significant progress in the labor sector showed the Marcos administration's commitment to its "Bagong Pilipinas" motto.
"The administration is resolutely dedicated to providing high-quality, well-paying job opportunities for the Filipino workforce," he said.
The PCO likewise cited President Marcos signing the Trabaho Para sa Bayan Act to enhance employability.
Moreover, the Senate's approval of the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Act and the launch of the National Innovation Agenda and Strategy Document (NIASD) for 2023-2032 are expected to create more opportunities.
"By focusing on these key initiatives, the government aims to propel the nation toward a more resilient and prosperous future, ensuring that the Filipino workforce not only survives but thrives in an evolving job market," the PCO said.
