CAMP DIEGO SILANG, La Union – Authorities uprooted fully grown marijuana plants worth P14 million in Barangay Buscala, Tinglayan, Kalinga on Thursday, October 5.
Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region 1 Director Joel B. Plaza said these marijuana plants were captured from three plantation sites with an aggregate land area of 7,000-square meters.
Plaza said based on the standards set by the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB), the marijuana plants were valued at P14 million.
Plaza said these were burned onsite and only samples were taken for proper documentation and disposition.
Police are conducting an investigation to find out the identities of the marijuana cultivators.
