LTO holds road safety seminar for 109 senior citizen-tricycle drivers in Valenzuela City
The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has conducted a road safety seminar on 109 senior citizens who are still driving tricycles in Valenzuela City.
LTO-National Capital Region director Roque Verzosa III said the seminar is part of the celebration of the Elderly Filipino Week in partnership with the local government unit of Valenzuela City and was held held at the Audiovisual Room, Ceso Action Center, McArthur Highway in Barangay Dalandanan.
“This is part of our recognition of the importance of our elderly. Road safety seminars play a crucial role in promoting responsible and safe road behavior, reducing road accidents, and saving lives,” said Verzosa.
“Also, these lectures are proactive approaches to addressing road safety and law enforcement issues that also empower our senior citizens,” he added.
Malacañang earlier issued Memorandum Circular No. 34, directing and encouraging national government agencies and local government units (LGUs) to support senior citizen activities during the annual celebration of the Linggo ng Katandaang Filipino (Elderly Filipino Week).
