'Eat Bulaga' injunction hearings end; Jalosjos testifies
The court hearings have ended on the application for the issuance of writ of preliminary injunction in a copyright infringement and unfair competition case filed by Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto and Joey de Leon, known as TVJ, and Jeny Ferre against the Television and Production Exponents Inc. (TAPE) and GMA Network.
TVJ and Ferre filed the case last June for “Copyright Infringement and Unfair Competition under R.A. No. 8293, otherwise known as the Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines, with Application for Issuance of a Writ of Preliminary Injunction.”

They are asking the court to issue an injunction to stop TAPE from replaying “Eat Bulaga” episodes, segments and audio-visual recordings done before May 31 this year and using the title “Eat Bulaga.”
The Marikina Regional Trial Court Branch 273 held the hearings first for the injunction part before the main case for copyright infringement and unfair competition. .
TAPE presented its last two witnesses in court. They were Malou Lourdes Fagar, former senior vice president and COO of TAPE, and Romeo Jalosjos.
Vic Sotto was supposed to be presented as a witness in the hearing but the TVJ camp opted not to present him anymore. De Leon, Tito Sotto and Ferre previously testified in court regarding their case.
Pretrial for the main case proceeded. TAPE and TVJ-Ferre adopted the testimonies of their witnesses during the injunction hearings as their evidence for the main case.
Tito, Vic and Sotto are the former hosts of "Eat Bulaga." They left TAPE and the show last May and are now hosting "E.A.T." on TV5.
