Hair donations should have a minimum length of 12 inches.
Here are the donation guidelines posted by Hair for Hope on its Facebook account:
1. Make sure to dry and brush hair. To keep the hair less messy as much as possible. Clean, shampoo, and/or condition hair, without any styling, hairspray, or additional hair products. Hair for Hope accepts treated, bleached, rebonded, colored, curly or straight hair.
2 Create a ponytail with an elastic band. Measure the length of the ponytail from the elastic band to the tips, making sure it’s at least 12 inches or 30.5 cm long.
3. Cut the hair just above the elastic band so that the elastic band remains on the ponytail after cutting and keeps cut hair together. Place the ponytail, keep it intact with the elastic band, in a zipper-locked bag and seal tightly.
4. You may take a photo of the Before & After Haircut which will be posted in the Hair for Hope social media accounts.
5. You may request a Certificate of Donation by sending the following details via email to [email protected]: complete Name, pictures (before & after haircut), date of donation
