School security guard wounded in shooting

TACLOBAN CITY – A security guard was wounded in a shooting incident in an elementary school in Dagami, Leyte on Friday, October 6.

The victim was identified as Jully Sequito, 38, a security guard at Dagami South Central School, and a resident of Barangay San Antonio, District 5, Dagami.

Reports said that the victim was shot by Ronel Candalo, 32, a farmer and a resident of Barangay Buntay, Dagami while he was on duty.

The victim was wounded in the right arm while the suspect fled onboard a motorcycle.

Candalo was caught fleeing the area in a closed-circuit television camera and was arrested in a pursuit operation.

Investigation said that jealousy could be the suspect's motive in shooting Sequito.
