House Speaker Martin Romualdez issued on Friday, Oct. 6 his "heartfelt congratulations" to Filipino jiu-jitsu fighter Annie Ramirez after she won the third gold medal for the Philippines in the ongoing Asian Games.
"We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Annie Ramirez for her outstanding achievement in winning the third gold medal for our country in the 19th Asian Games. Her dedication, hard work, and exceptional skills in jiu-jitsu have made us all proud," Romualdez said.
"Annie’s victory is a testament to the resilience and talent of Filipino athletes, bringing honor not only to herself but to the entire nation, for which we are truly grateful," said the leader of the 300-plus House of Representatives.
"The House of Representatives joins the Filipino people in celebrating this achievement and wishes her continued success in her future endeavors. Mabuhay ang atletang Pilipino! (Long live the Filipino athlete)," added Romualdez.
The 19th Asian Games are being held in Hangzhou, China.
