Marcos distributes rice, cash aid in Panay


ILOILO CITY – President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Friday, October 6, distributed rice and cash aid to beneficiaries of programs under the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in three provinces in Panay Island.

Marcos was assisted by DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian and DSWD-6 (Western Visayas) Director Carmelo Nochete in the distribution of rice mainly for the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries in Capiz, Antique, and Aklan.

In Capiz, Marcos distributed sacks of rice to 1,000 4Ps households, 679 of whom were affected by red tide. 

The President also released P1.78-million worth of livelihood assistance to six organized Sustainable Livelihood Program Associations (SLPAs) in Capiz.

Marcos proceeded to San Jose de Buenavista, the capital of Antique, and distributed sacks of rice for 1,000 families affected by the African Swine Fever (ASF) and typhoon “Goring.”

The President also distributed Seed Capital Fund totaling P1.45 million to eight SLPAs  from the towns of Hamtic, Tobias Fornier, Libertad, and Tibiao in Antique.

Marcos last stop was Kalibo, the provincial  capital of Aklan, where he distributed 1,000 sacks of rice and P600,000 seed capital to SLP beneficiaries.
