VP Sara awards outstanding policemen, units in Caraga

In her message in the event with the theme, “Nagkakaisang Pulisya at Pamayanan Tungo sa Mapayapa at Maunlad na Bansa,” Duterte, guest of honor and speaker, reminded rank-in-file of the Philippine National Police (PNP) of their mandatory task and never help to criminal entity and never be the offenders themselves.

“We only have the PNP in front of us and on the other side is chaos. Ang advice ko sa inyo, huwag ninyong tulungan ang criminal at huwag din kayo maging kriminal. Lahat ng ginagawa natin ay para sa Diyos, sa bayan at sa pamilyang Pilipino (My advice to you, don’t help criminals and don’t become criminals. What we are doing in our jobs is for God, country, and family),” she said.

Duterte reminded police unit commanders in Caraga that they are responsible for ensuring that all PNP personnel uphold the “highest standards of ethics, professionalism, and respect for human rights.”

The Vice President awarded PRO-13 personnel and units for their exemplary performance in administration and operation.

During the program, PRO-13 highlighted its accomplishments from April 24 to September 15, 2023, through an audio-visual presentation. 

Among these were the arrest of 202 most wanted persons and 1,092 other wanted persons; arrest of 57 suspects and confiscation of 576 loose firearms; arrest of 112 violators and confiscation of almost P8 million in illegally cut forest products; confiscation of P22.1-million worth of illegal drugs in Surigao City in August and September 2023, and arrest of 568 illegal gamblers and confiscation of at least P300,000 bet money.

Caraga logged a significant decrease of 1.03 or 6.81 percent in the crime rate. PRO-13 said 94.62 percent of cases were considered as crime cleared and 61.91 percent were crime solved. 

PRO-13 has given 41,832 awards and medals to its personnel, launched 3,573 community outreach programs, and mobilized 535,064 Caraga residents, including 350,000 members of the Lingkod Bayan Advocacy Support Group.

Gen. Kirby John B. Kraft said.
