Heads up jobseekers! The San Juan City local government announced on Thursday, Oct. 5, that it will hold a back-to-back mega job fair for San Juaneños who are qualified and who wish to be employed in the newest establishments and businesses that will open at Greenhills Mall in November.

San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora said the mega job fair will be held on Oct. 11 and 12 at the Lifestyle Annex of Greenhills Mall starting at 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.
Over 62 companies will join the first day of the fair while over 50 businesses will participate on the second day of the fair. Overseas employment agencies will also participate in the fair as well as the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), Social Security System (SSS), Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), PhilHealth, Pagibig, PNP-San Juan, and Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).
The full list of participating companies and businesses can be seen in Zamora's official Facebook page.
He urged aspiring participants to bring their government issued ID, ballpen, and numerous copies of their resumè, CV, or biodata.
In an interview with Manila Bulletin, the mayor explained the city government has introduced its "San Juaneño First Policy" to give unemployed residents the chance to be employed first in the city's businesses, establishments, and other offices. The policy also enables workers and their employers to have a more efficient operation system as they live close to their livelihood.
Local skills database
Zamora had earlier urged his constituents to register their skills with the city's skill registry to streamline their hiring processes in case they are looking for a job in the city especially during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The mayor said residents who wish to register their skills and competencies with the Public Employment and Skills Office (PESO) Skills Registration may proceed to their respective barangay offices and bring their government-issued ID and resume.
Those who cannot go to the designated schedule may proceed to PESO at the 2nd floor of the San Juan City Hall to submit their requirements.
"Ang layunin nito ay malaman namin ang inyong mga skills para kapag may mga negosyo na naghahanap mg mga empleyado ay ma-endorso namin kayo (The primary goal of this program is for us to know your skills so that we can endorse you to businesses that are looking for employees)," Zamora said.
San Juaneños may also register online using the link https://peso.sanjuancity.gov.ph/peso/apply.
This will make business owners and companies efficiently hire San Juaneños who have the required skills for their businesses.
