Mapua guard Paolo Hernandez believes that trust and chemistry among his teammates were crucial in the aftermath of the Cardinals' 75-71 win over last season's runners-up Benilde Blazers in the NCAA on Tuesday, Oct. 4.

Hernandez, who displayed his hero in the late game, stressed the importance of showing composure in critical situations especially against a formidable squad like Benilde.
“Para samin naman hindi na bago yung ganung shot ni [Migs] Oczon and di na bago samin yung ganoong sitwasyon,” Hernandez said after scoring 22 big points.
Oczon drilled a three-pointer with 35 seconds left to lead the Blazers back to the driver's seat 71-70.
Good thing, though, as Hernandez responded with a jumper that sealed the deal for Mapua.
“So, we stay composed lang, nagtiwala kami sa coaches, and tiwala namin as a team and sa mga players, kami-kami tiwala sa isa’t isa,” he added.
Mapua now holds a 3-1 win-loss record behind JRU (3-1) and unscathed Lyceum (4-0).
