Award-winning actress Kim Chiu trades her bubbly smile for a fierce expression in her latest project.

During the advanced screening of the new series "Linlang" at Cinema76 in Quezon City last Oct. 2, Kim admitted feeling happy and nervous while doing intimate scenes with Paulo Avelino. Also starring in the series is JM De Guzman.

"Happy naman ako (laughs), gusto niyo yun? Pero yung eksena namin ni Paulo, kaya nagpapasalamat ako sa dalawang director namin kasi super nila akong inalaagan, tinanggal nila lahat ng kaba at takot ko," said Kim.

(I'm happy (laughs), do you like that? But the scene with Paulo, so I'm thankful to our two directors because they took care of me super. They removed all my nervousness and fear.)

The actress also admitted to feeling nervous before her intimate scenes with Paulo, as it was their first project together.

"Syempre sobrang tahimik ni Paulo, and hindi naman siya natatawa sa akin, so sabi ko paano to? Tapos nung second day kinakabahan pa rin ako pero parang sige A-game siya, so A-game din ako so naging seryoso na din ako, pero nagpapasalamat ako sa kanya kasi pinadali yung mga bagay na kinakabahan ako," Kim added.

(Of course, Paulo is very quiet, and he doesn't laugh at my jokes, so how do I do this? Then on the second day, I was still nervous but he seemed to be A-game, so I was also A-game, so I became serious as well, but I am grateful to him because he made the things I was nervous about a little easier.)

Paulo expressed that he was a little nervous about shooting intimate scenes with Kim.

"Oo, kinabahan din ako. Scenes like those, intimate scenes, parang lagi akong kinakabahan. I'm not comfortable doing it. I'll do it, base on my character on the script," Paulo said.

(Yes, I was nervous too. Scenes like those, intimate scenes, always seem to make me nervous. I'm not comfortable doing it. I'll do it, based on my character in the script)

'Linlang' will follow the story of boxer-turned-seaman Victor "Bangis" Lualhati (Paulo Avelino) in his quest to uncover the truth behind his wife Juliana's (Kim Chiu) infidelity.

As Victor digs deeper, he discovers that there is more at play than just a cheating spouse and realizes that the woman he loved and married is not who she seems.

As he uncovers her darkest secrets, he's forced to confront his own demons and shortcomings, questioning his worth as a man and a husband.

Kim's favorite moment with Maricel Soriano

Joining the cast of "Linlang," is Diamond Star Maricel Soriano who plays Amelia Lualhati, mother of JM and Paulo on the series.

Kim's dream came true after Maricel slapped her during their shoot.

"Sobra po akong natigalgal! Siyempe, pangarap ng isang artista na masampal (ni Maricel). Bucket list namin ‘yun. Bucket list checked. Ang lala!" Kim said.

Before filming the slapping scene, Maricel gave Kim a face spray to prevent swelling.

"Nung binigay sa akin ni Inay (Maricel) yung spray narealize ko na hindi nga siya namaga pero masakit lang talaga (laughs), " Kim said.

(When Mother (Maricel) gave me the spray, I realized that it wasn't really swollen, but it was really painful (laughs).
