'Jenny' to exit PAR in next few hours but rainfall, wind warnings still in place
Typhoon Jenny (international name: Koinu) may exit the country’s area of responsibility on Thursday afternoon or evening, Oct. 5, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

In its 5 a.m. bulletin Thursday, PAGASA located the center of the eye of the typhoon 140 kilometers north-northwest of Itbayat, Batanes.
It was moving westward at 10 kilometers per hour (kph).
After its landfall over the southern portion of Taiwan, Jenny may exit the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) between Thursday afternoon and evening, PAGASA said.
Meanwhile, it slightly intensified with maximum sustained winds of 175 kph near the center and gusts of up to 215 kph.
Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 3 remains hoisted over Batanes; Signal No. 2 over northern portion of Babuyan Islands; and Signal No. 1 over the rest of Babuyan Islands, the northern portion of mainland Cagayan, northern portion of Apayao, and the northern portion of Ilocos Norte.
PAGASA said Jenny will continue to enhance the southwest monsoon, or “habagat,” which may bring ocassional rains over the western portions of Luzon in the next three days. (Lizst Torres Abello)
