In its 11 p.m. bulletin, PAGASA said typhoon Jenny has maximum sustained winds of 130 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gusts of up to 160 kph moving westward at 15 kph.

The center of the eye of typhoon Jenny was 330 km west-northwest of Itbayat, Batanes outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR), said PAGASA.

PAGASA said Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 1 is up in Batanes, Babuyan Islands, the northwestern portion of mainland Cagayan, and the northern portion of Ilocos Norte.

"Typhoon Jenny is less likely to directly bring heavy rainfall over the country throughout the forecast period," said PAGASA.

PAGASA said the effect of the typhoon on the southwest monsoon or "habagat" has weakened. However, the western section of Luzon may “still experience some rainshowers." (Lizst Torres Abello)
