Cayetano thanks President Marcos for visiting, distributing rice in Taguig
Mayor Lani Cayetano thanked President Marcos for visiting and distributing rice to residents of Taguig on Wednesday, Oct. 4.
Marcos gave 25 kilos of rice each to about 1,000 Taguig residents who are beneficiaries of the government’s Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps).

The rice was part of over 42,000 sacks of smuggled rice worth P42 million confiscated by the Bureau of Customs (BOC) in Zamboanga City.
The President’s visit today in Taguig is a testimony that first, he loves us, second, we are important to him. As the mayor of Taguig, I declare my solidarity with the President’s goals to ease the lives of our Filipino countrymen),” said Cayetano.
Marcos lifted the price cap he imposed on regular milled and well-milled rice through Executive Order No. 39. The order, dated Aug. 31, took effect on Sept. 5 and imposed a ceiling of P41 per kilo for regular milled rice and P45 for well-milled rice.
The high price of rice is one of those that the President is finding a solution day and night. That is why we, as officials of the local government, promise to support all the programs from the national government to our countrymen here in the local government of Taguig),” added Cayetano.
Marcos lauded Taguig’s urban farming and agricultural activities.
