Caritas PH to hold 'Bike for Kalikasan' in Batangas on Oct. 7
To help spread awareness to protect and preserve the environment, Caritas Philippines on Thursday, Oct. 5, announced the conduct of this year’s “Bike For Kalikasan” in Batangas City.

Scheduled on Oct. 7, the event will be led by Caritas Philippines which is the humanitarian, development, and advocacy arm of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) in cooperation with The Catholic Relief Services (CRS) Philippines, the Lipa Archdiocesan Social Action Center (LASAC), and the Archdiocesan Ministry on Environment (AMEn) of the Archdiocese of Lipa.
“The Caritas Bike For Kalikasan is a way for us to raise awareness about the importance of caring for our environment and to encourage people to take action to protect our Common Home,” said Caritas Philippines President Bishop Colin Bagaforo in a statement.
In line with this event, Caritas Philippines will have another activity #WalkforCreation or #WalkforVerdeIslandPassage. This activity will include planting mangroves, a clean-up drive, and a community boodle breakfast.
The bikers will start their ride from Montemaria Pilgrimage Center in Batangas City to the Lagadlarin Mangrove Forest Park in the Municipality of Lobo, Province of Batangas.
Meanwhile, the walk will start at San Miguel Parish Church in Lobo, Batangas, and finish at the Lagadlarin Mangrove Forest Park.
Caritas Philippines said the event is open to all cyclists “regardless of the age and skill level of individuals.”
