700 cops to be deployed for BSKE in Zamboanga City

ZAMBOANGA CITY – Seven-hundred policemen will be deployed to secure the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections here on October 30.

City police director Police Col. Alexander Lorenzo said the number represents half of the total number of policemen in the 11 police stations here.

They will be augmented by the Police Regional Office-9 Regional Mobile Force Battalion, Task Force Zamboanga, and other force multipliers.

“Our PRO-9 under the leadership of Regional Director Police Brig. Gen. Bowenn Joey Masauding nag-augment po sila ng RMFB (Regional Mobile Force Battalion) sa atin as quick reaction team sa mga strategic areas (to be used as quick reaction team in strategic areas),” said Lorenzo.

Police will be deployed in different schools a week before the barangay elections.

Lorenzo said they have also complied with Commission on Elections guidelines to transfer policemen who have relatives running in the BSKE to other police stations.

He said a minimum of two policemen will be assigned to guard the school but the number will be increased from three to four in areas of concern.
