Two parked buses catch fire in Sta. Cruz, Manila

Two parked buses caught fire at the Eagle Star Bus Terminal on Dimasalang Street, Sta. Cruz, Manila on Wednesday morning, Oct. 4.

The drivers in the terminal said they immediately sought help from authorities after they noticed that the buses were suddenly covered in smoke.

According to firefighters, the fire allegedly started under one of the buses at around 8:30 a.m.

The buses with body numbers 5482 and 5282 were bound for Naga and Samar.

A management staff of the terminal said that the buses were supposed to leave the bus station at 10 a.m.

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said the fire was raised to the first alarm at 8:49 a.m. and was put under control at 9:02 a.m.

It was extinguished at 9:08 a.m.

No one was reportedly injured in the incident.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire.
