Agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) nabbed on Tuesday, Oct. 3, a father and his son after they yielded around P3.450 million worth of shabu during a buy-bust operation in Malolos City, Bulacan.

In a statement, the PDEA stated that Anthony Chua, who was identified as a Chinese national, and his son Jay Vie Cai both of Pleasant Village in Barangay San Pablo were arrested after ‘a month-long casing and surveillance.’

After receiving information of the suspects’ whereabouts from tipsters, the PDEA Tarlac and Bulacan Provincial Office teams immediately positioned themselves strategically in the area and conducted the buy-bust operation.

The suspects have long been the subject of numerous complaints in the community due to their illegal drug dealing transactions.

“Recovered from the suspects were one piece self sealing plastic bag containing more or less 500 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P3,450,000 and the marked money used by the undercover agent,’’ the PDEA noted.

The suspects face charges for violation of Section 5 (sale of dangerous drugs) in relation to Section 26B (conspiracy to sell) of Republic Act (RA) 9165 otherwise known as the “The Comprehensive dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.’’
