New PRO 4-A chief assumes post


CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna – Police Brig. Gen. Paul Kenneth Lucas took over as new Police Regional Office 4-A chief on Tuesday, October 3,  replacing Police Brig. Gen. Carlito Gaces who is retiring this October.

Lucas’ assumption ceremony was officiated by Philippine National Police chief Police Gen. Benjamin Acorda Jr. in this camp.

Lucas is a member of the Philippine National Police Patnubay Class of 1995 and second “Lakan” who took the helm of PRO 4-A which covers the provinces of Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon.

He expressed honor and enthusiasm in his new role and pledged to continue the mission of the PNP, ensuring a relentless pursuit of peace and order and a strong commitment to community engagement and collaboration in the region aligned with Acorda’s 5-Focused Agenda, BIDA or the Buhay Ingatan, Droga’y Ayawan program, and Bagong Pilipinas concept.

“Our mission as law enforcement officers is full of challenges but it is through unity and collective action that we can overcome the challenges and make our communities safer,” Lucas said.

Lucas presented his policies that will form part of his leadership in the PRO 4-A, including enhancing public safety and security, professional development, and community engagement.

“I am committed to leading this Police Regional Office 4-A with these principles at the forefront of our mission. Let us strive for excellence in our professional engagement with the community, ensuring that their voices are heard, and their contributions are valued,” he added.

Acorda extended his full support and confidence to Lucas, encouraging him to build on the foundation laid by his predecessor and uphold the standards of excellence expected from the PNP.

Lucas reiterated his support to Acorda’s Serbisyong Nagkakaisa program to the command group, regional staff, provincial directors, and other personal and special staff. “Let us also build a harmonious relationship with our subordinates and other officers.”
