Boy band Seventeen added another record by being the first K-pop artist to sell five million copies of an album in the first week of release.
This was according to Korea’s Hanteo Chart, which tracks song and album sales.

The feat was achieved by Seventeen’s new album “Seventeenth Heaven,” which was released on Oct. 23.
According to Hanteo Chart, Seventeen’s “Seventeenth Heaven” sold a total of 5,091,887 copies in the first week of release from Oct. 23 to 29.
With this, Seventeen became the first K-pop artist to sell five million copies of an album in the first week of release based on Hanteo Chart data.
By day, “Seventeenth Heaven” sold 3,288,017 copies on the first day of release on Oct. 23 followed by 997,026 copies on Oct. 24, 126,696 copies on Oct. 25, 217,740 copies on Oct. 26, 173,634 copies on Oct. 27, 37,513 copies on Oct. 28, and 251,261 copies on Oct. 29.
The first-day sales of “Seventeenth Heaven” of 3.28 million copies put it in second place in the all-time list of highest first-day sales on Hanteo Chart’s history.
Ranking first is Seventeen’s “FML” album, which sold 3,998,373 copies on the first day of release.
