MIAA probes into viral video of verbal abuse on pregnant motorist over parking at NAIA
The Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) is now conducting an investigation into the heated altercation between a pregnant motorist and a male driver over a parking row at the Terminal 3 of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).
"The MIAA management is currently conducting an investigation into a recent incident involving a pregnant woman and a confrontational encounter with a family after she blocked their vehicle, citing an urgent need to use the restroom," the statement read.
MIAA is reacting to the social media post of the pregnant woman who posted that the outraged members of the family whose vehicle she had blocked damaged her vehicle.
She narrated that she was forced to park in front of the vehicle as she had to go to the comfort room and she was unable to find a parking space.
In the video she posted which went viral in the social media, a man was seen verbally abusing the pregnant woman. At least one more person was heard hurling invectives at the pregnant woman, who was believed to be a family member of the male motorist.
"The woman alleges that the family caused damage to her vehicle, potentially driven by anger. In response, she lodged a complaint with the Airport Police Department Terminal 3 section," the MIAA statement read.
In the complaint she lodged before the Airport Police, the woman said that she left a note with her cellular phone number in order for the driver to call her if he would already go out.
"As part of the investigation, the security guards assigned to the area will be questioned regarding their role in allowing such parking behavior to occur," the MIAA said.
