ACT-CIS Party-list Rep. Erwin Tulfo took to Facebook Monday, Oct. 30 to make a simple request to election authorities.
"Baka naman sa susunod na eleksyon, mga PWD at seniors sa ibabang classroom na lang bumoto (Maybe in the next election, the persons with disabilities and seniors could be assigned to vote in classrooms at the ground floor)," Tulfo wrote.
The 2023 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) was held Monday, and Tulfo probably saw the plight of PWDs and elderly voters on poll day as they struggled to reach their designated classrooms in the upper floors.
"Kawawa kasi sila (They're pitiful)," said the broadcast journalist-turned-congressman.
Voting took place between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday.
The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has implemented measures in the past to make voting easier for PWDs and the elderly.
Tulfo is a deputy majority leader in the House of Representatives.
