The conduct of Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) in Bulacan's 20 municipalities and four cities was generally peaceful, according to Bulacan Provincial Police Office (BPPO) director Col. Relly B. Arnedo.
Col. Arnedo said the BPPO conducted a virtual monitoring of the status of the BSKE 2023. The session was held at the Provincial Elections Monitoring and Action Center through Zoom platform on Monday night, Oct. 30.
During the meeting, the Police Non-Commissioned Officers (PNCOs) of the cities and municipalities in Bulacan provided updates on the conduct of BSKE 2023, which was generally peaceful.
Col. Arnedo said they also discussed the status of the ongoing plebiscite for the conversion of San Jose del Monte City into a highly urbanized city.
Before noon on Monday, the BPPO provided security assistance to Comelec Commissioner Aimee P. Ferolino who visited voting sites at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology in Santa Maria, Mapulang Lupa Elementary School in Pandi, and Ipo Elementary School in Norzagaray, Bulacan.
Col. Arnedo said these actions were instrumental in fostering an environment where citizens can exercise their right to vote without fear or intimidation, ultimately ensuring a free, fair, and secure election for the entire community during the Barangay and SK Election (BSKE) 2023.
