34 foreigners rescued from 'human trafficking' in NAIA operation

Operatives of the Philippine National Police-Aviation Security Group (PNP-AVSEGRP) have intercepted foreigners believe to be human trafficking victims at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 2.

PNP-AVSEGRP director Brig. Gen. Jack Wanky said the foreigners, 31 of them are Vietnamese while the rest are Chinese, were on their way to Cebu when they were intercepted on Monday, Oct. 30.

Police believe that the foreigners were on their way to Cebu as employees of Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs), adding that some of them later disclosed that did not actually want to go to Cebu.
