Police Lt. Col. Ronnie Brillo, administrative officer for the office of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) chief, said that no election-related incidents were reported on Monday, October 30.
Brillo said that there was information on alleged vote-buying here but there were no official reports.
He said that when police responded they only saw a group of people gathering in an area. They would immediately disperse them to avoid commotion or misunderstanding, he added.
Brillo said that there were no liquor ban violators and no additional gun ban violators here in the past two days.
He said the early security preparations of the BCPO in the BSKE could be attributed to the peaceful conduct of the elections here.
He said they are hoping to sustain this peaceful situation until the proclamation of the winning candidates, adding that they are on lookout on the reactions of supporters and candidates once the poll results come out.
This is to avoid misunderstanding among the candidates and their supporters, he said.
Meanwhile, the Negros Occidental police received one report of alleged vote-buying in San Enrique on Sunday, October 29.
Despite this, Police Major Rhojn Darell Nigos, spokesperson of Negros Occidental police, said that Election Day in the province is peaceful.
“We have not received complaints related to the elections. Safe and sound so far,” Nigos said, adding that they have no reports on liquor ban violators.
Nigos said that they arrested 31 gun ban violators from August 28 to October 30.
He added that all complaints for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition in relation to the Commission on Elections (Comelec) gun ban have been filed.
He said that they have maximized the deployment of personnel all throughout the province.
