Senior citizens, PWDs vote early in Muntinlupa for BSKE
Senior citizens, persons with disabilities (PWDs) and those heavily pregnant were able to vote early in Muntinlupa for the 2023 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE).
The Commission on Elections (Comelec) chose Muntinlupa City and Naga City as pilot areas for the Early Voting Hours Project to allow the sectors to vote early.
Before polling places opened at 7 a.m. on Oct. 30, senior citizens, PWDs, those heavily pregnant and one assistant were allowed to vote from 5 a.m. to 7 a.m.

“Muntinlupa is 1 of 2 pilot cities in PH to implement dedicated voting schedule for seniors, Persons With Disability & the heavily pregnant. Turn out for senior citizens was very good, w/ some going as early as 4:00am. Schedule is from 5:00am-7:00am. #BSKE2023 #muntinlupa,” Muntinlupa Mayor Ruffy Biazon posted on X (formerly Twitter).
International election officers from Georgia went to Muntinlupa to observe the early voting project.
“International election officers visited Muntinlupa to observe the conduct of early voting schedule for Seniors, PWDs & heavily pregnant. The observers from Georgia said they liked the system of having a schedule for vulnerable voters & would recommend it to their govt. #BSKE2023,” Biazon added.
