Sara calls for Filipino unity by voting


Vice President Sara Duterte is calling on Filipinos to unite in exercising their right to vote as she noted the impact on the national government of the current barangay elections

As she cast her vote in Davao City on Monday, Duterte stressed the important roles that elected barangay officials perform.

She said barangay leaders are the people’s immediate government that can give help and solutions to the problems of their constituents.

“Ang kanilang integridad at dedikasyon sa paglilingkod ay kailangan nating suriin at tukuyin (We should inspect their integrity and dedication to serve),” Duterte said.

“Ang halalan ay isang natatanging proseso na kung saan lahat ng Pilipino, anuman ang estado sa buhay, ay nabibigyan ng pagkakataong makapag ambag para sa Bayan sa pamamagitan ng pagpili ng karapat dapat na mamuno sa ating lipunan (Elections are a natural process where Filipinos from all walks of life are given the opportunity to contribute to the country by choosing the deserving leaders),” she added.

The Vice President described the conduct of elections “as a symbol of hope and unity for us all.

“Ipakita natin ang ating pagkakaisa bilang isang bansa sa pamamagitan ng pagboto (Let’s show our unity as a country through our votes),” she said.

Duterte is supporting a clean, honest and peaceful conduct of election while urging Filipinos to follow meaningful future for the Philippines.
