Mayor Honey inspects Manila North, South Cemeteries for Undas
Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan inspected the Manila North Cemetery (MNC) and Manila South Cemetery (MSC) on Monday, Oct. 30, to ensure order and cleanliness in the burial sites for the upcoming Undas.

Lacuna-Pangan went directly to the cemeteries after she cast her vote for Barangay Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) at Legarda Elementary School in Sampaloc, Manila.
During her inspection in MNC and MSC, Mayor Honey showed the electric tricycles that offer free rides for the cemetery's visitors.
However, in MNC, some visitors who want to avail the free rides ended up fighting to get the service.
MNC Officer-in-Charge Roselle Castaneda said their free rides prioritize senior citizens and persons with disabilities (PWD), but sometimes they encounter problems.
"S'yempre po lola may kasama buong pamilya, gusto nila isang buong e-trike, sa kanila. Eh mayroon pong next in line na senior din, nag-reklamo, nag-away talaga sila (of course senior citizens have the whole family with her, so they want to occupy the whole e-trike, but there is someone next in line who is also a senior who complained, then they fought)," she explained.
Mayor Honey asked the public who will go to MNC to be more patient when it comes to availing free rides because many people, especially senior citizens, visit the cemetery who also want free rides.
Staff are also on standby to help people who are not able to find their loved ones' tombs.
Castaneda added that they also offer free wheelchairs for senior citizens.
The mayor also checked the comfort rooms in the cemeteries and reminded the staff to always keep them clean and make sure that the floor is always dry.
Both cemeteries have first aid stations and ambulances on standby for medical assistance.
Police assistance desks are also set up to address visitors' needs.
Lacuna also advised the visitors to keep their surroundings clean, especially the graves of their loved ones.
She also reminded the public of the prohibited things inside the cemeteries, which include flammable items such as lighters, cigarettes, e-cigarettes, and vapes; sharp objects such as knives and cutters; and grave repair materials such as paint, paint thinner, and others.
