Wanted businesswoman nabbed while applying for police clearance


CALACA, Batangas – A 49-year-old businesswoman wanted for human trafficking was arrested while applying for a police clearance at the police station here on Monday afternoon, October 2. 

Police identified the suspect as Mary Jane Bay, married, of Barangay Laguille, Taal, this province.  Bay was on the list of most wanted persons on the regional level by the Police Regional Office 4-A.

Bay went to the Calaca police station to apply for a police clearance at 2:44 p.m.

While processing her clearance, police discovered that she has two standing warrants of arrest for qualified trafficking in persons issued by the court with no bail recommended.

Bay was arrested and is now in the custody of the Calaca police.

Police Col. Samson Belmonte, Batangas police chief, cited Bay’s arrest.
