Sucat named most resilient barangay in Muntinlupa


Mayor Ruffy Biazon awarded Sucat as the most resilient barangay in Muntinlupa in the inaugural search conducted by the Local Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (LDRRMC). 

All the nine barangays in Muntinlupa underwent inspection from the LDRRMC, assessing their disaster preparedness, disaster prevention and mitigation, response and recovery, and rehabilitation.

In addition, Sucat was given a Special Citation on Best Practices for the Use of Household Electronic ID, Use of Barangay-Wide Early Warning System, and Fully Operationalized Operations Center.

Sucat Barangay Chairman Raffy Sevilla received the plaque and P200,000 worth of disaster response equipment. 

Other barangays which received citations are: 

• Barangay Poblacion - Special Citation for Best Practices on Use of Digitalized Disaster Response Inventory Database

• Barangay Putatan - Special Citation for Best Practices on Effective Pre-positioning of Disaster Response and Rescue Equipment

• Barangay Bayanan - Special Citation for Best Practices on Effective Information, Education, and Communications

The 1st Search for Most Resilient Barangay in Muntinlupa was in compliance with Executive Order No. 13, which seeks to strengthen the functionality of barangays in risk reduction management, early warning system, resource allocation, and competency.

The Muntinlupa City Department of Disaster Resilience and Management led the search.
