BUTUAN CITY – A magnitude-4.3 earthquake jolted Davao Occidental before dawn on Tuesday, October 3.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the earthquake was recorded at 4:58 a.m. and its epicenter was 160 kilometers (kms) southeast of Sarangani Island, Sarangani, Davao Occidental.
The tremor had a shallow depth of only one km, Phivolcs said.
No damage or injuries are expected from the tectonic earthquake.
The Office of Civil Defense (OCD) in Southern Mindanao and Davao Occidental Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council reported no damage or injuries from the tremor.
