LTO pushes for full online transaction of all its services before end of October 2023

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) is eyeing full online transactions for all its services before the end of this month as part of the goal of the Marcos administration to go digital in all government transactions.

From driver’s license to car registration, LTO chief Vigor Mendoza II said the end goal is for contactless transactions with the use of the agency’s Land Transportation Management System (LTMS).

The LTMS is a one-stop online shop that seeks to integrate all the services being offered by the LTO through a single contactless database system and digital platform.

“We are creating a Technical Working Group that will focus on resolving all the glitches that were encountered in the past. We hope that all these problems in the computer system will be finally resolved so that it will be 100% operational by this month,” said Mendoza.

The LTO’s digital shift includes the integration of all computer systems being used by the agency in providing services related to driver’s license, car registration and other services.

Mendoza said he already discussed the LTO’s goal with all the agency’s regional directors and district officers and all of them have committed to completely migrate towards the use of LTMS.

“We have been meeting with car and motorcycle dealers in connection with the procedures that will be followed on this matter so that all of us will all utilize the LTMS for purposes of full transactions,” said Mendoza.

Full online transactions is one of the commitments made by Mendoza when he assumed the top LTO post, saying this is in line with the instruction of President Marcos for digitalization of all government services.
