Fly Kitchen Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of leading food and beverage firm Fruitas Holdings Inc., is expanding its operations with the acquisition of cloud kitchen equipment from food delivery service firm Foodpanda.
In a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE), Fruitas said its “dedication to superior quality and creativity in the cloud kitchen market is expected to be accelerated by this strategic initiative.”

“The dedication to pushing the limits of gourmet experiences and a passion for culinary artistry have been repeatedly displayed by Fly Kitchen through the various brands it had established such as Hatid Pinoy, Jade Express, Kanin at Sabaw, and more,” it added.
“We are pleased to announce this tactical purchase of top-quality kitchen equipment from Foodpanda. This decision reflects our dedication to providing outstanding gastronomic experiences to our patrons,” said Fruitas President and CEO Lester Yu.

Fruitas said it is prepared to expand its capabilities with the acquisition of the culinary equipment which Foodpanda previously utilized.
With the advanced kitchen technology, Fly Kitchen is now able to expand its menu with new methods, processes, and flavors.
The use of cutting-edge equipment allows the company to streamline every aspect of its operations, from food preparation to presentation, resulting in even higher service and product quality.
Additionally, the advanced kitchen equipment will give Fly Kitchen the freedom to experiment with new recipes which will excite the taste buds of its loyal consumers and new customers.
Finally, Fruitas said the kitchen equipment will open the door for the company to collaborate with and prepare third-party brands which would fit well with its present cloud kitchen operations.
Fruitas bought Fly Kitchen from the son of business tycoon George Yang last June to further accelerate the growth of its cloud kitchen business, Nube Kuxina, which it had launched in the third quarter of 2022.
Fly Kitchen is a three-year cloud kitchen company founded by Kristopher George Yang, President of First Georgetown Ventures, Inc. and Marco Alquiros, who honed his kitchen operations management skills and knowledge in his 10-year stint with the Filipino restaurant chain Giligan’s.
To capitalize on the shift in consumer purchasing trends, Fly Kitchen was founded in 2020 at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The business was able to expand into four strategic kitchen locations in Metro Manila, specifically in Makati City, Pasig City, Mandaluyong City, and Quezon City with a combined cooking area of about 200 square meters and cater to over 10 brands, including Hatid Pinoy, Jade Express, Kanin at Sabaw, and more.
The business has also developed strong connections with third-party food aggregators like Foodpanda and Grabfood.
Fruitas said it will market a number of its own food and beverage items such as its Fruitas fresh juices, Ling Nam, Soy & Bean, Sabroso Lechon, and more, via Fly Kitchen.”
