Farmer drowns in water tank in Samar

TACLOBAN CITY – A 47-year-old farmer fell and drowned in a water tank in Barangay Malonoy, Villareal, Samar, on Monday, October 2.
Police identified the victim as Vicente Tordillos Jr.
Initial investigation said the victim was on his way home from a drinking spree and suddenly climbed on top of a concrete water tank and plunged inside.
Tordillos shouted for help and a neighbor, Edwin Gacumo, heard his cries but it took a while to locate him.
He unresponsive and floating when he was found.
A post-mortem examination was requested at the Rural Health Unit to establish the victim's cause of death.
