Emirates SkyCargo is seeking to extend its air freight export and logistical services in the Philippines to support and sustain the country’s growing economy.

“The Philippines is undergoing a period of steady economic growth, leveraging its geographical advantage as a gateway between the Asia-Pacific region, Europe and the Americas, especially in the wake of the e-commerce boom. With our vast network of over 140 destinations, Emirates SkyCargo is well-placed to support the Philippines with exports, transporting goods to all corners of the world,” said Amer Alzarooni, manager of Emirates SkyCargo Philippines.

“With every new and unique destination added to our network, we improve trade flows and generate new, reciprocal business opportunities that help strengthen global economies,” he added.

According to the S&P Global Market Intelligence report, the Philippines’ merchandise exports have risen by 5.6 percent since 2022.

Given the “moderate and steady” growth of the country’s air cargo throughput and merchandise exports, Alzarooni said the SkyCargo can provide “fast, reliable, flexible and efficient” transportation services for the country’s export goods.

Emirates SkyCargo offers “fit-for-purpose solutions,” which include specialized handling for fragile or time-sensitive products such as fresh fruit and vegetables, lifesaving medical treatment, or garments.

The cargo features facilities and infrastructure that are equipped with an “extensive cool chain capacity” to carry and handle various kinds of shipment like perishable items, especially for Philippine export goods such as pineapples, bananas, and coconuts.

Emirates SkyCargo also boasts of having the world’s largest, European Union (EU) Good Distribution Practices (GDP)-certified pharmaceutical hub to ensure sensitive items are safely stored.

The airline operates two cargo terminals with a cargo capacity of over 2.3 million tons per annum in dual-hub airports, which are located near Dubai and connected to a 24-hour trucking network to guarantee the transit of the cargo.

It services 140 destinations in six continents with multiple daily flights on wide-body passenger planes. It’s vast network also allows it to access many countries within eight hours of flight time.

Emirates SkyCargo said it is continuing to “assess opportunities in the market to better serve its local and global customers while supporting the growth of the Philippine economy.”
