Cainta LGU gives town’s seniors special treat


Recognizing the contribution of senior citizens to society, the municipal government of Cainta, Rizal has prepared a week-long program for the town’s elderly as part of the nationwide celebration of the Elderly Week 2023.

The office of Mayor Elen Nieto announced that the observance of the week for the town’s seniors will include health care programs, grooming, and a get-together from Oct.  2 to 6.

On Oct. 3, Tuesday, the elderly can avail of the free dental services from 8 a.m. to 12 noon at the third floor of the session hall of Barangay San Juan.

On Wednesday, Oct. 4, there will be free ECG, RBS, and Eye Check-Up at the Brookside Senior’s Hall from 8 a.m. to 12 noon exclusive to the town’ senior citizens.

On Oct.  5, Thursday, its time for the elderly to have their haircut done at the San Roque Covered Court between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m.

The senior citizens can have a get-together on Oct. 6 during the Senior Fellowship Program from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m., at the Youngstown Covered Court while ballroom dancing will be held in the same venue from 3-6 p.m. 

The municipal government initiated on Monday, Oct. 2, a gift-giving for the elderly inside the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology as well as a mini program at One Cainta Sunset Retreat Center, the town's home for the abandoned elderly.

Senior citizens who are Persons Deprived of Liberty at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology facility also received gifts from the local government.
