Boy, 12, drowns in Naic, Cavite river

CAVITE – A 12-year-old boy drowned while swimming in a river in Naic, the police reported on Monday, Oct. 2.

The Cavite Police Provincial Office identified the victim as Jancel Mark Ramos Abella.

Investigation showed that the boy left their house on Sunday morning, Oct. 1, and failed to return home.

On Oct. 2, the victim’s family received information that he went swimming in the river with his friends, prompting them to seek assistance from barangay officials.

The victim’s body was found in the river during the search.

An ocular inspection by the authorities found no sign of foul play or inflicted injury.

The body was taken to the funeral service provider for an autopsy.
