Biden, Harris thank Fil-Am community's contributions to US
US President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris have thanked the Filipino-Americans for their contribution to the US as the White House celebrated the Filipino-American History Month.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Biden said he and his wife, Jill, "are thrilled to celebrate Filipino American History Month."
The celebration, he said, honors "the rich heritage and traditions of millions of Filipino Americans."
"To our Filipino American community: Thank you for all you do to ensure our nation continues to be the land of opportunity," Biden said on Monday night (US time).
Meanwhile, Harris, who already visited the Philippines, said Filipino-Americans "contribute to our nation's success every single day."
"During Filipino American History Month, our Administration celebrates the important role that Filipino Americans have played and continue to play in the American story," Harris said.

Their remarks were made just as their administration also commended the community for helping "forge the very idea of America."
According to the US State Department, more than four million Filipino-Americans live in the US.
"This Filipino American History Month, the Biden-Harris Administration is proud to honor generations of Filipino Americans who have ensured our nation remains a land of hope, opportunity, and optimism," White House said in a post on X on Sunday night.
